In this article we will show off our wood floor restoration skills and highlight a particular project we have recently completed. This project involved a 30m2 room which had original Columbian Pine parquet block flooring in situ, a wall had been removed from one end of the room where there was once a utility room, the main issue was that there was a difference of around 35mm between the level of the old tiled surface of the utility area and the level of sub floor to the rest of the room.
To bring the two sub floor levels together we had to use self levelling compound, we use a product from Lecol, their excellent Z635 leveller which we used over four pours on 4 different days, usually 3-4 days in between to allow for the proper drying time, we also incorporated stone granules into the levelling mix to add strength, and for the inter coat adhesion between each pour of the self levelling compound we used Lecol's D3074 primer.
The following picture slideshow will chart in pictorial form the dramatic change we effected on this project, our client Craig obtained an almost identical replacement parquet material for us to make the repairs...and even cleaned a rather large 6m2 pile of the blocks himself !!! - we were able to tie the replacement blocks back into the original pattern and leave a seamless transition between the repaired area and the rest of the room.
Hope you enjoyed this slideshow, the pictures within are just a small part of our very large portfolio of completed projects and we will be adding more photo sets as and when we can.
