Wooden Floor Maintenance Tips- How To Clean Your Wooden Floors
If you have just installed a new Hardwood Floor or had your wooden floors newly Refinished , this is some valuable information you should know so you can protect your investment and enjoy a much longer lifetime for your Wooden floors.
When necessary you can walk on the Floor in stocking feet after 24 hours or maybe sooner after your wooden floors have been refurbished (depending on advice from your tradesmen)
Avoid walking on the surface with street shoes for at least 2 days - 95% of the curing takes place after 24 hours, but care should be taken for the first week until the floor has fully hardened and cured properly.
Light furniture can be replaced in this time – Remember to Lift and Carefully Place the furniture back into position and wherever possible use protective felt pads, Avoid Dragging Furniture as it may well scratch or damage the floor surface.
Heavy items such as Large Sofa's, fridges and washing machines should be moved carefully ensuring they are not dragged over new floors.
For most of us, Wooden Floors are a lifetime investment, and decisions concerning them should not be taken lightly. Routine maintenance should include protecting the surface finish from moisture, everyday dirt and debris and heavy wear which can create scratches.
This maintenance requires more than sweeping and vacuuming.
