In this article we will show off our wood flooring restoration skills and will specifically highlight a quite large and technically very difficult project we have recently completed.
The project in question is the original 123m2 Pitch Pine parquet wood block floor at Stalybridge Church Hall, this 104 year old floor was in a very poor condition and was covered in a quite thick layer of wax/polish which had been built up on the surface of the wood surface for decades.
The layers of wax were so thick and discoloured [up to 1mm thick and literally black] it was very difficult to see the herringbone pattern underneath, included in this project was a repair to a damaged area, where it once used to be a track for a dividing partition to open and close, the material was almost worn away, so we took up material [parquet blocks] from another room in the building and completely repaired the area, the first four pictures in the picture slideshow are of the repairs.
This is undoubtedly the hardest floor sanding project we have undertaken and it took a monumental effort from my team...whom i thank unreservedly for their unstinting efforts over the five long and difficult days of this project.
Client Feedback for this Project
"My business partner and I knew the floor in our Church Hall Building could look good. Thankfully we had Gary and his team working on the restoration. His team worked extremely hard on what he explained was one of the worst neglected floors he had seen, and I was pretty sure this was one of the hardest jobs they had tackled.
They worked long days to ensure all the wax was removed having to remove some by hand. We had an area of floor which also needed to be repaired, and they have done an outstanding job of making our floor look as good as it did over 100 years ago. If you are looking for a company to restore your floor I would recommend Gary and his team without a doubt.
I mentioned to Gary if anyone would like to come and view the work he has done, I have no problem with showing people how amazing our hall now looks.
Marks out of 10 for this job would definitely stretch to a 15... Fantastic work.
Many Thanks Julie & Gillian (The Church Hall, Stalybridge)" |
